Mount Olives CBO Conducting A Free Medical Camp

He said that in the coming years they will having a FREE medical camps once every year in Kisii and Homa Bay counties.

Dr. Lizanga said they are targeting to reach between 800 to 1000 residents in every medical camp and offer treatment to patients and refer those with severe ailments for further medical attention.

Over 300 residents turned up for a free medical camp organized by the Mount Olives Medical Centre under the umbrella of Mount Olives CBO partnership with the other stakeholders and the county government.

The residents were diagnosed with various ailments and received treatment with one patient being referred to county Hospital for further treatment after presenting symptoms of severe Malaria.

Among the services offered were diabetes screening, nutritional advice, breast and prostate cancer screening, consultation, basic medical check-ups and diagnosis of upper respiratory tract infections.

Mount Olives Medical Centre Managing Director, Dr. Calvin Lizanga who led the medical team in attending to patients said most residents presented symptoms of bacterial infections and hypertension during the examination.

He said the camp is part of a countrywide outreach programme that aims at providing Kenyans with healthcare services to detect, treat and prevent ailments at early stages.
